Чего врать-то, 90% мотивации для сбежать с работы настолько раньше - это именно что funny Australian English лектора.
KSE вчера в Доме Учителя давали качественную и бесплатную лекцию по экономическим и социальным эффектам Евро 2012.
Лектор был ироничен, аудитория была скептична. Поэтому вывод про неизбежность величавого пиздеца напрашивался прям с первого слайда.

Ниже мои корявые заметки на полях. Не чтоб показать, что я всё ещё умею писать на том языке. А потому что блокнот точно со временем потеряю, а сравнить после самого мероприятия захочется же (совпало/не совпало), так что пусть лучше здесь лежит. Формулировки типа fuckin optimist, понятное дело, не лектора :)

** dangerous things in when people expect money to jump into their pockets just because the Event is in their city. This would never happen.

** Many investments in such cases are not really investments since they tend to expatriate back, right after the event.

** crucial thing would be the positive statements of the international media. Probably, the most important long-term effect for the country

** political risk for the current government in case of a fuckup

** the major problem at the current stage: promised too much. Meaning, the digits. All those magic millions are too much money to imagine.

Профессор взялся не из ниоткуда, в принципе, и, если верить, исходил из данных по более 50 спортивных мероприятий по всему миру. Красной нитью: не стоит обольщаться, денег на всех не хватит, расслабьтесь, купите пива и получите удовольствие от мероприятий, которые надо просто пережить, раз уж вляпались.

Оффтопом:
сильно понравился абсолютно справедливый пример про environmental issues.
Во всех гостиницах от Турции и западнее действительно так пишут: мол, если Вы заботитесь об экологии нашей планеты, не бросайте Ваши полотенца на пол, а просто повесьте на крючок - тогда мы не будем их менять прям вот каждый день, сэкономим порошок, планете радость. Фигня, проверено много раз и в разных странах: где б не оставлял, всё равно меняют. Лицемерие. Такое же, как и think before you print.
